Greece King Otto 1834 copper medal. Struck to commemorate the foundation stone (laid on May 10th 1834) of the University of Athens.It was dedicated to the donors of the university. Obverse the moustached portrait of the King with "Otto King of Greece" in Greek legend.Reverse the University building (still standing as built today) with "Dedicated to the donors of the University" in Greek legends. Below "Foundation laid on 10th May 1834" ( K ΜΑΙΟΥ ΑΩΛΘ). Practically as struck.
